Please see below the list of English Official Courses that will be conducted by SQA this upcoming ski season. The Official courses conducted in French are on the SQA website.
All Level 1 and Level 2 courses will be conducted online. The English Level 3 course will be conducted in person in Ottawa. Candidates must register and pay through the SQA website: https://www.skiquebec.qc.ca/officiel-formations
Level 1 : 3 choices Dec. 5, Jan. 12 or Jan. 17
Official Level 1, is a general introductory course in the organization of ski races and the various functions of an official with an emphasis on the general race environment (basic principles, the language used, the roles of the official etc). The role of Gate Judge will be emphasized.
Your presence certifies your success in this training.

Description:
The English Official Alpine Level 2 on-line course provides training on the rules and operations of alpine ski racing, preparing an official for supervisory positions at a competition. The curse covers the following three areas of officiating:
1. Structures – governing bodies, alpine events, International Competition Rules (ICR), race organization
2. Processes – phases of a race from preparation to wrap-up (including review of a competitor’s run from start to finish), and race operations.
3. Roles – Race Administrator, Team Captain, Coach at a Competition, Course Setter, Referee, Start Referee, Finish Referee, Chief Gate Judge
Homework: There will be 4 homework assignments
Course Material: Available in a shared folder.
Exam: 1 hour – multiple-choice and True/False questions. Open book.
To do before the first session: When you register, we will send you a document to read, which will guide you to complete the 10-question true or false test online. Following receipt of your test, we will send you the link for the first online session.
